The Performance, Tuning & Modified Show at Santa Pod Raceway took place on Sunday 15th June 2011. The PTM Show is a no-nonsense performance car event, where the tracks take centre-stage. The springtime weather threatened rain, but fortunately it skirted around Santa Pod and left the dragstrip dry for some serious racing! The PTM Show played host to some of the most amazing drag action ever seen outside of an international drag racing event, with 5-second Top Fuel cars, 6-second Japanese cars, 7-second fuel altereds, 8-second drag bikes, 9-second street cars and 10-second electric cars! The PTM Show had it all…
First and foremost was the Evo Run What Ya Brung Competition where anyone could get their own car on the dragstrip to see what it could do. The competition was split into four classes to pit similar cars against each other. Some superb times were set in all classes, and the quality of the competitors far exceeded the number, giving everyone loads of tracktime to perfect their drag performance. The top cars and drivers in each class were as follows:

Run What Ya Brung drivers who also liked a bit of show-car action were also invited to take part in the Show & Go Competition. Cars scored points for both their best time on the dragstrip and also for their presentation. The competition was very close at the top, but the following cars took the honours:
Show & Go Winners:
Away from the dragstrip and show paddock, the handling track was open for another epic battle.
Handling Track Winner
Next to the handling track, the drift track was busy all day with tyre smoking, big-bhp drift action, and passenger seats awaited those brave enough to climb aboard for a ride! People that weren’t able to stomach that idea had plenty to see from the sidelines as tyres were smoked in fine style.
The PTM Show also hosts serious drag racing, with the Jap Drag Series MSA classes and the Euro Sports Compact demo classes all present. These classes contain the UK’s very fastest modified cars, and things got really serious at the PTM Show, when John Bradshaw hit over 200mph in less than 7 seconds in the JDS pro class! To think that just a few years ago, 9-second passes were remarkable, and now the Jap tuning scene has produced serious 6-second cars. The full race reports are coming shortly, but the winners were as follows:
